Thanks to all who organised / presented at the DCG meeting last night.
This was the first time I attended and I really had a good time; I’ll definitely be coming back!
I’m looking forward to the proposed open source project collaboration that was suggested.
I’ve got a few reverse-engineering tool ideas that I think would be great to finally code and as I’ve got very limited free time (aka none), FOSS collaboration would be perfect.
More than anything the meeting last night finally inspired me to start a new project which I’m calling ‘ldpreloader’ – basically a tool to make my LD_PRELOADing life easier; no details yet – I’m still thinking it through – although I have started coding and have a github repro. Ah what fun it is to code without requirements and without much of an idea about what I’m actually trying to achieve! 
Using LD_PRELOAD is of course one of the most powerful linux app security research techniques available. In fact I started writing a whole series on it with example applications, etc. on my blog a long time back – before my Chinese VPS hosting provider decided to delete my entire VPS without letting me know and without taking a backup! Majorly annoying. So annoying in fact that I can’t be bothered to write it all over again.
I of course no longer use them to host my VPS.
